Description

The East Block of the former Turvey Institute is a mid-19th century building that forms part of a purpose-built institute. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a fishscale tile roof. The stone gable coping is adorned with moulded finials and kneelers, and the building is designed in an L-plan with one storey.

The eastern wing has a north gable end facing the road, which includes a tall three-light leaded window with mullions and a high-level transom, complemented by a stone drip mould. The western elevation has two two-light leaded casements on either side of a stone gabled porch. The northern elevation of the western wing mirrors this arrangement with the same style of windows and porch.
