Description
Central Stores, Gable End, and The Old Tinkers Inn is a house and shop, likely built in the 18th century and later remodeled in the 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a banded fishscale and plain old clay tile roof. It has four window bays and two storeys with attics, along with four regularly spaced red brick ridge chimney stacks, two of which are located at the gable ends.
The north elevation showcases a large central gable flanked by two smaller gables, all adorned with scalloped bargeboards and large decorative timber brackets. The attic includes three 3-light casement windows. Beneath the central gable, there is a two-storey canted bay window topped with a cast iron balcony. The first floor features two additional 3-light casements, while the ground floor has a 3-light casement on the left side and a modern shop window on the right side, set within the original opening. Flanking the central bay are doorways topped with large steeply pitched gabled doorhoods supported by brackets. Above the right-hand doorway, there is a single light leaded casement window positioned between the floors.
