Description

The Old School House is a house dating from the mid-19th century, built around the same time as the front blocks of the Turvey Institute. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a fishscale tile roof with stone gable coping, moulded finials, and kneelers. The building has a two-bay plan and consists of one storey with attics. A central tripartite ridge chimney stack made of roughly ashlared stone is prominent. On the north elevation, there is a doorway located slightly to the east of the chimney stack. The west side includes a two-light casement window with a stone mullion. At the rear, there is a lean-to structure.
