The Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century. It features colour washed rough cast over a timber frame and has an old clay tile roof with two spans, arranged in a double pile plan. The building is two storeys high.
On the front elevation, the ground floor includes a projecting bay to the left, a single light casement window, and a three-light casement window. The first floor has two three-light casements flanking a single-light window, with all windows featuring glazing bars. A red brick central multiple ridge stack is present.
The rear elevation has been remodelled in the 19th and 20th centuries, featuring a lean-to roof over a central porch and flanking rectangular bays on the ground floor, along with three casements on the first floor. There are also single storey lean-to additions on the north gable ends.
