Description
No. 10 Green End is a cottage that dates from the 17th century or earlier and the 18th century. It features colour washed rough cast over a timber frame and has a thatched roof. The building has a four-room plan and is one storey high with attics. The left-hand three bays are from the 17th century, while the right-hand bay is from the 18th century.
The front elevation includes a variety of windows: one 2-light casement, one 3-light casement, a lean-to porch from the 20th century with a tiled roof, one single-light casement, another 2-light casement, an open porch from the 20th century with a thatched hood, and a final 2-light casement. There are three eyebrow dormers, each with 2-light casements, and all windows feature glazing bars.
The cottage has a red brick ridge stack aligned with the porch and red brick integral stacks at both gable ends. The left-hand block retains a 17th-century timber framed fire hood. There is also a 20th-century flat-roofed addition at the rear.
