Description

This is a mid-18th century house and warehouse, later altered in the mid-19th century and the mid-20th century. The brick building has a tile roof and chimney stacks in the ridge. It now forms part of a larger house, shop and bakery.

The house and shop are to the left, while the warehouse is to the right. The house is three storeys high with three windows. It has 16-pane boxed sash windows under segmental heads; the central window on the first floor is blind. The second floor features 12-pane fixed casements with original crown glass. The ground floor has an entrance to the right of centre, with a mid-19th century shop to the left. The shop has pilasters, a blind box, a recessed glazed entrance door and a plate glass window to the left. Another ground floor window to the right is a 16-pane sash with a plastered wedge lintel set within a larger segmental headed opening. The house entrance is framed by a stone architrave with a keystone, topped by a flat wooden canopy. The door is six-panelled, with the upper two panels glazed.

The warehouse is two storeys high and features a dentilled brick cornice. It is attached to the previous building with a straight joint, with windows cutting through that joint. The first floor has a 16-pane boxed sash window with a segmental head, and a three-light casement below with a segmental head. The first floor also has five windows: two-light casements with leaded rectangular quarries under segmental heads. The ground floor has four windows: two-light casements under segmental heads. A cart entrance with a basket arch is on the left side, and a mid-19th century block with a flat headed cart entrance on the ground floor, and a loft door above with a segmental head, is on the right hand end.

The interior of the house is linked to number 1, with which it forms a single structure.
