Description

No 9 High Street is a house dating from the early 17th century, with early 19th century and some mid-20th century alterations. It features a timber frame with rendered infill, partly weatherboarded, and is underbuilt in brick with a tiled roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, which is lit by a two-light casement window in the central gable. The first floor and attic project out, supported by a moulded bressummer. There are two shallow square oriel windows with sills on two consoles, along with three-light casement windows. On the ground floor, there are four glazing bar sash windows arranged in two pairs. The entrance is located at the left corner, featuring a wooden architrave and a ledged and boarded door with strap hinges. The framing consists of two rectangular panels extending high to the first floor and a square panel high to the attic beneath the gables.
