Description
Number 63 is a house located on the south side of High Street in Bewdley, dating from the mid-18th century, with some alterations made in the mid-19th and mid-20th centuries. The building is constructed of brick and features a hipped slate roof. It has three storeys above cellars, with a moulded stone cornice, a band at the first floor, and a moulded stone plinth. There are five windows, which include glazing bar sashes beneath plastered wedge lintels with keystones and stone sills. The second floor has 9-pane boxed sashes.
The ground floor has a central entrance that is accessed by four stone steps. This entrance features a pilastered doorcase with an open pediment supported on consoles, above which is a fanlight. The door is six-panelled, with the upper four panels being glazed. To the right of the entrance, there is a passage that is entered under a plastered semi-circular head with a keystone and impost blocks, and the panelled door here also has a semi-circular head.
The attached railings are made of simple wrought iron and include a gate to the cellar on the right, which has fluted lock plates. Inside, there is an open well staircase with turned balusters and a closed string.
