Description

A former warehouse and two adjoining houses, dating from the mid-18th century. The building is constructed of rubble stone with flush, alternate quoins to the left side, and has a Cotswold stone slate roof with four stone stacks, one at each end. It is a large range of three storeys and an attic.

The left-hand section (formerly the warehouse, now No. 10) has three blocked window openings with cambered heads on the first and second floors, and a larger dropped central opening on the second floor, probably originally a loading bay. The ground floor has a large blocked carriage arch to the left with a 20th-century door inserted, a blocked door in the centre, and a 12-pane sash window to the right.

No. 12, originally paired with No. 10, has seven 12-pane sash windows. The top floor on the right-hand side is blocked. A moulded string course sits above the first floor, and there is an elaborately moulded wooden cornice. There are two gabled dormers with wooden casements in the attic. The ground floor has five plate glass sash windows with lintels designed to support plaster.

At each end of the building, a round-headed doorcase rises up two steps, featuring a moulded stone architrave, a keystone, and impost blocks. The left-hand doorcase contains a six-panel door with fielded panels and a decorative radial fanlight; the right-hand doorcase has a 20th-century door and a plain fanlight.
