TETBURY LONG STREET (east side) No 23 (The Ormond at Tetbury)

GV II Inn. Early C19. Painted roughcast with stone dressings, cornice and blocking course, slate roof, three tall stepped brick stacks. Front range with carriage arch right of centre and long stabling ranges to rear on left and right.
Two storeys and attic. Four windows, twelve-pane sashes with moulded stone architraves, sill brackets, cornice and plain aprons, and interlocking tracery in top panes. Four large gabled dormers with wooden pilasters and open pediments and Y tracery in top half of sash. Ground floor has three pairs of cambered head plate glass sashes with sill brackets. Stone string course below first floor aprons, and wide stone pilaster strips. Carriage arch right of centre with entrances to each range inside arch, wrought iron lamp bracket over and two boarded doors with their tops curving down to centre, with iron spikes along the tops. The inn was formerly known as 'The Ormond Head', and an inn is recorded on this site since late C17.
