Description
The Barn is a Grade II listed building, likely constructed in the mid- to late 18th century. It features a timber frame and is weatherboarded above a high brick plinth that includes ventilation slits. The roof is plain tiled. The structure consists of five framed bays, with a wagon bay located in the second bay from the north-east gable end. This bay has opposed square-headed cart entries and double doors.
The framing includes long rectangular panels extending from the sill to the wall-plate, with long straight braces in the lower corners. The end tie-beam truss has two collars, queen struts, and a V-strut at the apex. Each of the intermediate trusses contains two pairs of raking struts, and there are two rows of trenched purlins.
At the time of the survey in October 1984, the barn was undergoing conversion into a dwelling.
