Description
The Barn at Burners Farm is a Grade II listed building dating from the mid-16th century, with an additional bay added in the 18th century. It features a timber frame, with the ground floor partially clad in 18th-century red brick laid in stretcher bond, while three bays remain open. The first floor is covered in wide weatherboarding, and the barn has a gabled roof that has been renewed with tiles.
The front of the barn displays two curved tension braces, and the north end, which is open on the west side, is also weatherboarded. The southernmost four bays are from the mid-16th century, characterized by large jowled posts and curved braces supporting the collar beam. The roof structure includes open posts, clasped purlins, and rafters that do not have a ridge piece, along with some curved windbraces. The timbers in the northernmost bay, which dates from the 18th century, are of smaller scantling and include some rough timbers.
