Description

Thorner Cottage is a house dating back to the 18th century, built around an earlier core, with a 20th-century extension set back to the right and left. The house has a timber-framed core and is largely clad in whitewashed brick, with hipped, plain tiled roofs. A plinth sits below a plat band over the ground floor, with brick dentilled eaves in the centre. Double and triple chimney stacks are located to the right, with oversailing tops. The fenestration is regular, containing three casement windows on the first floor, two below, and a single metal casement window to the left. A half-glazed door is positioned to the right of the centre, sheltered by a flat hood supported on brackets. To the right, a one-bay hipped roof extension is taller, while a hipped roof sweeps down to a single-storey extension on the left.
