Description
Burrow Hill Cottage is a 17th-century cottage located on School Lane in Pirbright. The structure is timber framed and originally clad in red brick laid in a distinctive “rat-trap” bond pattern across the front elevation. The gable ends are rendered, and the first-floor rear elevation is clad in timber boarding. The roof is covered with plain tiles, and there are end stacks. The front of the cottage is regular, with two horizontal sliding sash windows on the first floor, and two three-light casement windows below, each with gauged brick heads. A central boarded door is positioned under a cambered head. Pentice roof extensions with half-glazed panels project from the ends, particularly on the right side. Twentieth-century extensions are set back from the main building on the rear right. The rear first floor is jettied.
