Description
Vynes Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, which was refaced in the 18th century and has a 20th-century extension to the left of the rear. The building has a timber-framed core with red and brown brick cladding on the front, featuring some blue headers, and it has plain tiled roofs that are half-hipped to the right and taller with an oversailing gable to the left. The house is two storeys high, set on a plinth with a plat band over the ground floor. The rear ridge is stacked to the left, and there is a triple ridge stack to the right of centre. The front is symmetrical, with three three-light casements on each floor; the lower windows have cambered heads. There is a ribbed 20th-century door in a brick porch to the right of centre, with a blind panel above that contains a terracotta plaque featuring a "P" and a crown above. The taller 20th-century wing is tile-hung on the first floor and is positioned at right angles to the rear.
