Description
Cross Farm House is a house dating from the late 16th century, which was refaced in the 18th century and extended in the 20th century. It has a timber-framed core set on a sandstone plinth, with red and brown brick cladding and a plain tiled roof that is hipped to the left. The house is two storeys tall, featuring a plat band over the ground floor and a small end stack on the right, with a larger stack located to the left of centre. The front is irregular, with three casement windows on the first floor and four windows below, all situated under cambered relieving arches. To the left of centre, there is a panelled door located in a 20th-century porch that has a pentice roof, with the top two panels glazed and surrounded by chamfered brick under a cambered head. At the rear right, there is a parallel range, and the right-hand return front displays a queen-post frame in the gable, which is exposed and has red brick infill. There is also a 20th-century porch extension at the right end.
