Description
The Farm Manager's Office at Cross Farm, built in 1911 by Sir Edwin Lutyens for Sir Edgar Home, is a brown brick building with tile-on-edge dressings. It is rectangular in shape and has large hipped roofs with deep eaves. A square ridge stack is located at the left end. The main front of the building is at a right angle to the street, with a hipped roof veranda extending over the entrance, supported by wooden posts. There are three entrances between low plinth walls. The fenestration consists of wood-framed, leaded casement windows, with a single window on either side of the centre. Half-glazed doors are at the ends, and a central round-arched entrance features a panelled door with a round leaded window in the upper half.
The return front facing the yard has a large nine-light mullioned and transomed window on the right, with double doors below to the left. The return front facing Puttenham Lane has a tall hipped roof that forms a prominent feature to the yard entrance. Three gables are visible at the rear.
