Description
Russell Hall is a former Dame School that has been converted into a cottage, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of large rat-trap bond red brick, with weatherboard cladding on the left side and a plain tiled roof that is hipped over the main cottage and slopes lower to the left. The building is single storey with an attic, featuring three gabled and boarded casement dormers at the rear. The entrance is located at the rear, and the building has brick dentilled eaves and end piers. There are two 20th-century ground floor metal casement windows, a door at the right end, and 20th-century extensions to the left. The rear wall facing the street is noted as an attractive feature of the village. This building is included in the register for its group value only.
