Description

Causeway Farm House is a house dating to the late 16th century, which was subsequently refaced and altered in the late 18th and 19th centuries. The house is timber framed, with red brick cladding below the front elevation and fishscale tile hanging above. It has a plain tiled roof that is hipped and steps up to the left. The building has an L-shaped plan, and features a triple ridge stack on the left. The first floor has two windows – a 3-light casement to the left and a single-pane sash window to the right – with matching windows below. A six-panel door is located to the left centre, sheltered by a wavy-edged weatherboard gabled hood. The left-hand return front is of 18th-century brick, with irregular casement windows that have cambered heads on the ground floor.

Inside, some partition framing with thin timbers is exposed, along with deep brick fireplaces.
