Description

Hovers Well is a house dating from the 17th century, with extensions added in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is timber framed and stands on a brick and stone plinth. The lower part of the house is built of whitewashed brick, with an exposed square panel frame above and rendered infilling. The roof is tiled and steps down towards the rear.

The front elevation has two doubled gabled bays facing the road, with rebuilt ridge stacks to the rear right and left. An overhanging gable is located on the left. A large gabled bay is set back to the right, featuring casement windows on both floors. A smaller gable projects to the left. A 20th-century panelled door is set within a wooden surround on the ground floor to the left.

The left return front is of whitewashed brick, with a gabled bay to the right displaying four casement windows on the first floor. Below, there are two windows set within cambered arches. 20th-century brick extensions have been added to the rear of the property.
