Description

Two houses dating from the mid-18th century and late 18th century, with alterations in the late 19th century. They are constructed of limestone ashlar and squared rubble with brick, and have slate roofs. The building is two storeys high. Number 84, on the left, has two bays and a storey band. The ground floor features canted bay windows resting on stone bases and linked by a slated canopy. The first floor has iron casement windows within timber frames, with openings having plain reveals. A doorway is located between the bays and has plain reveals. A chimney on the right has a cyma cornice. Number 86 is a single-bay house. It features a canted bay window on the ground floor with a stone base, and a slated canopy extending over the left-hand door. The first-floor wall is brick and contains a casement window with glazing bars. The door has plain reveals. A chimney is adjacent to Number 84. The gable wall of Number 86 shows signs of a previous thatched roof with a steep pitch.
