Description

Two houses, dating circa 1860, are constructed of brick with a slate roof. The exterior is two stories high, with each house featuring two bays. The windows are glazing bar sashes, each with a brick flat arch exhibiting slightly cambered soffits. Number 7 has its doorway situated to the right of the left-hand bay; Number 9's doorway is located in the third bay. Both doorways have plain pilaster doorcases topped with cornices, and the doors consist of two recessed panels above two flush panels, with overlights incorporating margin panes. Blocked cellar openings sit below the first and second bays. A timber gutter is supported by paired rectangular brackets. Gable and right-hand (of Number 7) ridge chimneys are present. The interior has not been inspected. A low brick wall, incorporating iron railings with cast-iron spikes set into the stone coping, runs in front of Number 9 and is attached to the left-hand end of the houses. An iron gate is positioned near the centre of the wall. This wall and railings contribute to the group value of the buildings.
