Description

This is a late 18th-century house and shop, built of limestone ashlar with a stone slate roof. It is two storeys high with an attic, and originally had three bays. A 20th-century shop front is located to the right of the ground floor, featuring two bowed windows with glazing bars and a central doorway. To the left of the shop front is a sash window with glazing bars and 20th-century louvred shutters, and a similar window is above it on the first floor. The first floor windows in the first and second bays have been replaced with PVC double-glazed units, installed in 1986, which originally held sashes with glazing bars. Two attic dormers are visible. The doorway, located to the right of the left-hand window, has a stone doorcase with engaged Tuscan columns and an open dentilled pediment, and above the 6-panelled door is a fanlight. Coped gables feature chimneys. The building demonstrates group value in this streetscape.
