Description

No. 70 High Street is a house dating from the mid- to late 18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of limestone ashlar and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys with an attic and consists of five bays, with a storey band. The windows are 20th-century metal casements that include glazing bars and plain reveals. There are three attic dormers and a six-panelled door located in the middle bay, which is topped with a transom light. Fluted pilaster strips and a timber hood on brackets appear to be repairs or replacements from the 20th century. The gables are coped, and the gable chimneys feature cyma cornices.
