Description
Two houses, likely built in the early and late 18th century, stand on Harrowden Road in Orlingbury. The houses are constructed from regular coursed limestone, with some ironstone banding, and have thatched roofs. Originally, Number 2 comprised a three-unit plan, while Number 4 had a single-unit plan. Together, they present a four-window facade of casement windows with glazing bars, each set beneath a wooden lintel. A wood canted bay with a stone base is located at the far right of Number 2. A 20th-century door, also beneath a wooden lintel, sits in the centre of the facade. The left-hand side features an ashlar gable parapet, and there are stone stacks with ashlar cornices on the ridge. Number 4 includes a 20th-century entrance with a glazed porch on its left gable, along with evidence of 18th-century heightening of the gable.
