Description

The Dovecote, located in Orlingbury, is a structure likely dating from the mid-17th century. It is built from regularly coursed limestone with ironstone dressings and features a plain-tile roof. The dovecote has a rectangular, one-unit plan. There is a small door in the north gable, which is topped with a wooden lintel. On the west elevation, there is a two-light casement window, also under a wooden lintel. The gable ends are adorned with ashlar parapets and kneelers. The roof is pyramid-shaped and covered with slate. The interior has not been inspected.
