Description

This milestone, located next to Milestone House Hotel on the north side of High Street in Broadway, dates from the late 18th century and was restored in 1953. It is made of limestone and has a rectangular shape that tapers to a rounded top. The face of the milestone is inscribed with the distances: "To London 90 Miles. Morton 8. Stow 10. Worcester 21. Evesham 6". A plate on the milestone notes that it was defaced under the defence regulations of 1939 and subsequently restored in 1953.
