Description
Nos 97 and 99 on High Street is a house and shop, likely built around 1700 with later additions from the 18th century. The building is constructed from limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof. It is one storey high with an attic.
The west wall has a canted bay window set on a stone base, topped with a stone slated canopy. To the right of this bay window, there is a doorway and a window with plain reveals, both under the same lintel, along with a 2-light chamfered mullioned window. On the left side, there are two additional windows with plain reveals, and between these is a doorway with a chamfered surround and a canted head. The attic features three dormers with casements that have leaded glazing.
To the left, there is a taller addition that includes a door with plain reveals under a stone slated canopy. The left-hand gable is coped, and there is a chimney located behind the ridge towards the right. The left-hand (north) gable, which faces the street, has a canted bay window on the ground floor and a first-floor window with plain reveals and a keyed lintel.
