Description

Pear Tree Cottages is a row of cottages dating from the late 17th century, with some alterations made in the early 19th century and late 20th century. The cottages are timber-framed with rendered infill and feature a thatched roof. They consist of four framed bays arranged east to west, with a brick stack at the eastern gable end and another stack located between the two western bays. The cottages are single-storey with an attic, which is illuminated by three casements that have been cut into the thatch. There are a total of six windows, arranged as 2 + 2 + 2, all of which are two-light casements. The entrances for Nos 1 and 2 are paired in the center, while No 3 has its entrance to the right, all featuring 20th-century ledged and boarded doors. The framing consists of three square panels in height, supported by straight tension braces.
