Description
Hillview is a row of cottages dating from the late 18th century. They are constructed of red brick and feature thatched roofs, with a west end stack and three ridge stacks. The cottages are one and a half storeys high and originally had paired casement windows, though most have been altered or replaced. Each cottage has a one-room plan. Cottage No. 1 has 20th-century windows and a door to the right, while Nos. 2 and 3 have small-paned casements with doors on either side. There is a straight joint to No. 4, which has a door to the left and small-paned casements. No. 5 has been entirely refaced in the 20th century. No. 6 is built of rubble stone, featuring small-paned casements and a door to the right within a timber porch; its east gable is hipped. At the rear, there is a late 19th-century two-storey outbuilding with a slated roof, which was rebuilt in the 20th century to connect to No. 5.
