Description

Field Cottage is a cottage, originally comprising three dwellings, dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. It has a timber-framed construction with a roof covered in Bridgwater tiles, replacing what was originally thatch. The roof is half-hipped on the north side. Chimneys are located on the ridge and at the south end. The cottage has one and a half storeys.

The west side of the cottage is rendered and features a dormer window with a triple casement and three similar windows on the ground floor, along with a doorway to the right of centre. The north end displays exposed timber framing with brick panels and a 20th-century timber bay window.

Inside, back-to-back fireplaces are located between the north and centre rooms, and between the centre and south rooms. The centre room's fireplace has the dates 1632 and 1805 inscribed on its lintel. A tie-beam with a cruck truss is positioned above the centre room.
