Description
Orchard Lane Cottages is a row of cottages, likely dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, with 19th century and later alterations and additions. The cottages are primarily timber framed and plastered, topped with a thatched roof. The right side features a crosswing with 19th century two-storey bay windows, and there is a central two-storey bay window as well. Generally, the cottages are one storey with an attic, and there are two 20th century casement windows. The 19th century bays have vertical sliding sashes. The three doors have moulded surrounds, with two of them being four-panelled, and the door on the left has two lights. There are three red brick chimney stacks. Inside, the cottages feature heavy stop-chamfered bridging joists and floor joists.
