Description

This property comprises four houses, located at 47, 48 (Yelland), 50 (Magnolia Cottage) and 51 (Orleans Cottage) on Evesham Road. The building dates to the 15th century, with extensions added in the 17th century and the mid-20th century. It is timber-framed with rendered infill, with painted brick extensions and a machine tile roof. The structure presents a gable end to the road; the original 15th-century range consists of two or three bays, extended northwards in the 17th century to form a T-shape, and incorporates a long rear range likely of three bays. A further extension was added to the south side of the 15th-century section in the 20th century. A central stack is located in the northern 17th-century extension. The east front is two storeys high, featuring a brick tower in the angle to the right. The 15th-century gable end has a two-light casement window on each floor, the upper window retaining a 15th-century projecting lintel. A 20th-century section to the left has a two-light casement window on each floor. The 17th-century extension to the right has two 20th-century casement windows on the ground floor. Access to No. 47 is via a 20th-century brick lean-to on the right-hand return wall, to No. 48 to the rear on the right-hand side, and to Nos. 50 and 51 on the left-hand return wall. The 15th-century gable end features close-studded framing with curved tension braces on the ground floor. The 17th-century section has framing of four rectangular panels high with straight angle braces.
