Description
Hop Hill Cottages is a row of three cottages dating from the late 17th century. They are constructed of timber framing and brick, topped with pantile roofs. The cottages feature one gable stack, two ridge stacks, and a small lateral stack. They are single storey with an attic and consist of six bays from left to right.
The leftmost bay has a single two-light casement window, followed by a two-light glazing bar casement window with a raking dormer above, and a plank door. Next is a two-light 20th-century casement window and another plank door, with a pair of raking dormers above. This is followed by another two-light casement window with glazing bars, then a large three-light 20th-century casement window and a plank door, also with a pair of raking dormers above. Finally, there is a single-light casement window.
Inside, the cottages retain much of their timber-framed structure, including chamfered spine beams on the ground floor, and much of the original roof structure is preserved above.
