Description
The Old Church, formerly known as the Church of St Peter, features the surviving tower and chancel built between 1862 and 1863 in the Early English style by J H Hakewill. It is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. The tower is three stages high and includes flat clasping buttresses and moulded bands separating the stages. The bell chamber has openings on each face, each featuring two lancets beneath a single pointed arch. The chancel is topped with a tiled ridge roof and has a stone-coped gable. The remainder of the church was demolished around 1973.
