Description
This is a terrace house located at 72 London Road, built around the 1840s with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of red brick with painted stone details and has a slate roof. There is a stack at the rear right featuring oversailing detail and pots. The entrance is marked by a timber doorcase, leading directly into the living room. To the left, a through-passage provides access to the rear of the property, with a door leading to the kitchen.
The house has two storeys and a cellar, with two windows on the first floor. The stone details include channelled wedge lintels with moulded cap keystones above the ground-floor windows, as well as sills; the side passage features a plain lintel. All windows are 6/6 in plain reveals with sills. The entrance door is a four-panel design, with the bottom pair being double-beaded and the upper pair bolection moulded. The panelled pilaster doorcase has a cornice and console brackets decorated with shells and acanthus leaves. There is an open passageway at the extreme left of the elevation. The interior has not been inspected.
