Description
This is a terrace house, built around 1775. It is constructed of limestone ashlar, painted on the ground floor, with an ashlar rear elevation. The front has a parapeted roof with artificial slate and two ashlar chimney stacks to the left, featuring early clay pots. A rear staircase is present.
The house is three storeys high, with a basement, and has a two-window front. The first floor has two paired sash windows with plate glass, horns, and splayed reveals, set within a continuous stone sill. The second floor has three grouped sash windows with plate glass and horns, which are narrower on either side, also in splayed reveals with a continuous stone sill. The ground floor has a sash window to the left and a six-panel door to the right. The door has flush reeded, fielded, and glazed panels, with coloured etched glass, set within a stone doorcase featuring an ovolo moulded architrave, a flat surround, and heavy console brackets supporting a projecting moulded cornice. There is one step up to a pennant paved crossover with a cast iron footscraper. The basement has a sash window and a glazed roof. A band course runs over the ground floor, and a coved eaves cornice and coped parapet are present. A lead hopperhead is set at the eaves on the left side. The rear elevation features aluminium windows. The interior has not been inspected.
