Description

This is a terrace house, likely built around 1775, and probably altered in the early 19th century and again in the 20th century. It is now used as flats. The front and rear are faced with limestone ashlar. The roof is parapeted with artificial slate on the front, and the rear covering is not visible. There are two ashlar chimney stacks to the front, one with early clay pots, and a staircase to the rear.

The house is four storeys and has a basement, with a two-window front. The first floor has two paired plate glass sash windows set in splayed reveals and a continuous stone sill. The second floor has three grouped plate glass, horned sash windows, which are narrower on either side, set in plain reveals and with a continuous stone sill. The third floor has two two-light timber casements in plain reveals and stone sills. On the ground floor, there is a plate glass, horned sash window in a splayed reveal and a stone sill to the left, and a six-panel door to the right. The door has a flush, fielded panel and a single glazed panel, set within a stone doorcase with an ovolo moulded architrave and a flat surround, flanked by heavy console brackets supporting a projecting moulded cornice. There is one step leading to a lias-paved crossover. The basement has two-over-two horned sash windows in a plain reveal with a stone sill, and a 20th-century door below the crossover. A band course runs over the ground floor. There is a coved former eaves cornice over the second floor and a coved eaves cornice and coped parapet. The rear elevation has plate glass, horned sash windows. The interior has not been inspected. Attached wrought iron railings have shaped heads on painted bases.
