Description

This is a terrace house dating to around 1775. It is constructed of limestone ashlar to the front, painted at ground floor level, with rubble to the basement and rear. The roof is double piled, with a parapet to the front and concrete tiles on the front slope, artificial slates to the rear, and a coped party wall to the left. It has two ashlar stacks to the front, featuring early clay pots that have been truncated.

The house has three storeys and a basement, with a symmetrical three-window front. The first floor has three grouped plate glass sash windows with horns, the windows on either side being narrower, set in plain reveals and featuring a continuous stone sill with a wrought iron balconette. The second floor has three similar sash windows, but without a balconette. The ground floor has two paired sash windows to the left, and to the right, an eight-panel door with flush, reeded panels, fielded panels with voided corners, and glazed panels, surmounted by a decorative fanlight, all set within an early 19th century unmoulded projecting surround with roundels at the springing of the round head. A pennant paved crossover is flush with the pavement and incorporates a cast iron footscraper. The basement has two two-paned horned sash windows in splayed reveals and a continuous stone sill, alongside a four-panel door situated under the crossover. A band course runs above the ground floor, and there is a coved eaves cornice and a coped parapet. The rear elevation, partially visible, features plate glass horned sashes. The interior of the property has not been inspected.

Attached to the property are wrought iron railings and a gate with shaped heads on painted bases. The group value of this building rests in its contribution to the surrounding terrace.
