Description
No. 15 and its attached railings are a terrace house dating from circa 1775. The front is faced with limestone ashlar, painted at ground floor level, with ashlar to the rear. The roof is double-pile and parapeted at the front, covered with concrete tiles, and has two ashlar stacks to the left. A staircase is located at the rear. The house is three storeys and has a basement, with a three-window front. The first floor has a Venetian window with plate glass sash windows, featuring horns, set in plain reveals, and a continuous stone sill with a wrought iron balconette. The second floor has three similar grouped plate glass sash windows. The ground floor has a plate glass sash window to the left in a splayed reveal with a timber bead, and a six-panel door with beaded, fielded panels and a single glazed panel, contained within a stone doorcase. The doorcase has an ovolo moulded architrave in a flat surround, with heavy console brackets supporting a projecting moulded cornice, above a single step leading to a pennant paved crossover. The basement has a plate glass sash window in a plain reveal with a stone sill, with a plank door filling the space under the crossover. A band course runs over the ground floor, there is a coved eaves cornice, and a coped parapet. The rear elevation contains two-over-two sash windows. The interior has not been inspected. Attached wrought iron railings, with shaped heads on painted limestone bases, are present.
