Description

This is a terrace of originally four houses, now converted into three dwellings. The building dates to the early 19th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of red brick with a plain clay tile roof. The house on the right has a slightly lower roofline. The ridge stacks are located at the left and centre, retaining an oversailing detail and decorative pots. The property follows a single-depth plan; the entrance opens directly into a living room containing a staircase, which has been altered in the late 20th century to create a separate hall or lobby.

The building is two storeys high, with a basement and attics. There are four windows on the first floor. Brick detailing includes dentilled eaves. The windows are timber sashes, with 2/2, 4/4, and 6/6 glazing patterns, all with flush frames. They are set within segmental brick arches, with the exception of the first-floor window on the right-hand side, which has no visible arch or lintel. All windows have sills. A stone step leads to the entrance, which features replaced six-panel doors with raised and fielded panels set within simple pilastered doorcases. The rear elevations have similar window fenestration to the front of the building. A French window provides access to the basement of the northernmost house; otherwise, the rear has a door and an adjacent window. A flat-roofed dormer with paired side-hung casements is located on the centre pair of houses. The north-facing attic has a 2/2 sash window in the gable end, while the south-facing attic has a single gable-end window and a skylight to the rear roof pitch. Interior details are not known, as they have not been inspected.
