Description

Stone Cottage is a house that likely dates back to the early 17th century, although it has undergone alterations and additions in the mid-20th century. The building features sandstone rubble walls that are approximately 18 inches thick and has a plain tiled roof. It is two storeys high with a brick dentilled eaves course and consists of two bays. On the south front elevation, there are two 2-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, and a brick stack is located at the west end of the ridge. The main entrance is found in the outshut at the rear of the building. Inside, original ceiling beams are still present. Additionally, a mid-20th century brick two-storey cross-wing is attached to the left gable end.
