Description
Laundry Cottage is a house that likely dates from the late 17th century, with some later alterations. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and timber-frame with plaster infill, topped with a tile roof and features sandstone rubble and brick stacks. The building has a rectangular four-bay plan that runs roughly north to south and consists of one storey and an attic.
On the east elevation, there is a central gabled dormer that contains two-light early 20th-century casements. The ground floor features three late 20th-century glazing bar casements, each with two lights. To the left of the centre, there is a gabled porch with a ledged door. There is also a small projecting wing with a gable stack on the left-hand side. The timber frame generally consists of three panels high from the plinth to the wall. The interior was inaccessible during the re-survey in February 1987.
