Description
Church Cottage is a cottage that likely dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with some later alterations. It features a plinth made of sandstone rubble and a timber frame filled with plaster. The roof is tiled and includes brick and sandstone rubble stacks. The building has three bays that are aligned roughly north to south and consists of one storey and an attic.
On the west elevation, there is one window, which is a four-light late 20th-century glazing bar casement set in a raking-top dormer. The ground floor has two contemporary two-light casements and two glazed doors. The south gable facing the road has similar casements and a framed lean-to on the right side, which has a large sandstone stack. The frame of the cottage is composed of three square panels high from the cill to the wall-plate. Inside, there are collar trusses. The cottage is included for its group value.
