Description

Ivy Cottage is a cottage that likely dates back to the 17th century, with some later alterations. It is constructed of sandstone rubble, coursed sandstone rubble, and timber-frame, topped with a hipped tiled roof that slopes to the east. The building features large sandstone stacks and has a rectangular shape aligned east to west. It is one storey high with an attic.

On the south elevation, there are 1:1 windows that are late 20th century casements, with a gable front made of sandstone to the right. The main range includes a gabled dormer with a three-light casement and a similar casement window below, both set within the framing. To the left, there is a framed gabled porch that has a mid-20th century door. The gable features two-light casements on each storey and seven rows of nesting holes with ledges above the first floor level. There is also a ledged door on the left-hand side. The frame consists of three panels extending from the plinth to the wall-plate. The interior was inaccessible during the last survey in February 1987.
