Description
Woodmans is a house that possibly dates back to the 17th century, although it has mainly been altered and added to in the 20th century. The building is timber-framed, featuring some painted brick infill and a few remaining wattle-and-daub panels. There is a northern sandstone addition, with the upper storey and gable being tile-hung and roofs covered with pantiles. The original structure consists of three framed bays running east to west, with gable end stacks and a central entrance. There are later additions at the rear of the house. Originally, it was a single-storey building with an attic, but it has been raised to two storeys.
On the south front, there are three windows: two- and three-light casements, a four-light window, and a pair of French windows to the left, along with a 2-light window to the right of a glazed 20th-century door. The north front features two projecting gables above a lean-to addition. The framing is reputed to be fairly intact, originally consisting of three square panels from the sill to the wall-plate, which have now been raised to four.
