Description
Palace Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse located in Bosbury. It has undergone minor alterations and additions at the rear. The building is timber-framed with rendered and partially painted brick infill, a sandstone plinth, and a tiled roof. It is designed in an L-shape, with the main block consisting of two framed bays aligned north to south, and a cross-wing of two framed bays at the north end, facing west. The entrance is located in the main block to the right of the cross-wing, likely through a passage, with a stack at the south gable end and another lateral stack on the north side of the cross-wing.
The farmhouse is two storeys tall, featuring a slightly projecting upper storey on the west front. This upper storey has a moulded bressummer supported by two scrolled brackets and includes two 3-light casement windows. The gable end of the cross-wing to the left has a 2-light window, and there is a 20th-century ledged door. The framing is largely intact, with four square panels high, short angle braces from the main posts to the wall-plate, two struts to the collar, and V-struts in the gable.
