Description

This is a milestone located approximately 20 metres north of the Post Office in Hanley Castle. It dates from the mid-19th century and is made of sandstone with a cast iron plate. The milestone has a rectangular shape with a rounded top. The cast iron plate features finger indicators and is inscribed with the distances: "UPTON 1½ MILES. MALVERN 5½ MILES".
