Description

This milestone, dating from around 1800, is located 350 metres north of Beaumont Gate Farm. It is made of sandstone and features cast iron plates. The base of the milestone is buried, and it has a triangular section. The left-hand plate indicates a distance of 'Burton VIII 1/2 miles', while the right-hand plate shows 'Lancaster II miles'.
