Description

This milestone, dating from around 1800, is located approximately 150 metres south of the junction with Alexandra Road on Lancaster Road in Carnforth. It is made of sandstone and features cast-iron plates. The milestone has a triangular section with a semi-circular base that is partly buried. The left-hand plate is missing, while the right-hand plate displays the inscription 'Burton IIII Miles'.
